The ULA chief pointed out that getting over the complications of the SpaceX explosion launch mishap may take upto a year.
History is full of examples of things just going hunky dory when suddenly out of nowhere tragedy struck. Then everything was in disarray. Such may be the case for now with SpaceX.
Elon Musk is facing a time of troubles ahead as his space agency gets grounded for a period of a year or so. The launch accident that took place awhile ago is something for which Elon Musk will have to pay a steep price.
Any and all repair work not to mention investigation will take some time. Such is the nature of the game. SpaceX’s main competitor agency gave this news recently.
It will take anywhere from nine to 12 months for the whole thing to get off the ground after the utter failure and dismal fiasco. The Chief Executive of ULA spoke about the reality of the situation.
A SpaceX Falcon 9 Booster simply burst into flames when it tried to launch off the pad on September 1st. A $200 million Israeli satellite on board was blown to smithereens in the process.
This is the second such failed mission and it makes Elon Musk look a notch or two less able in the eyes of his Silicon Valley comrades. The real causes for the accident are still a moot point.
The investigative agencies are looking into it. SpaceX refuses to disclose the damages it incurred due to the explosion. Figuring out what exactly went wrong and then fixing it was what it was all about.
Repairing the damage is no big deal though. It will be accomplished with a little elbow grease and confidence.
The Chief Executive of ULA called the SpaceX President and offered his sympathy and empathy on the occasion of the crash, according to Reuters.
ULA and SpaceX are competitors. Yet at such times of crisis, they are friendly enough to lend each other sustenance if only in word and not deed. The future of space exploration is a market that is ripe for opening up to the common man.
That could take place in the form of reusable rockets. Not only is such a scheme dirt cheap but it is very good for the environment since it is like recycling.
